In this article we will go over how to set up your Sales Tax Rates.   


1 - Click on the Admin tab and then look for the Global Settings section and then click on the Sales Tax bubble.





2 - Next click on the Sales Tax Rate link.




3 - A new page will appear.   Note any existing rates will appear where you can edit or delete.




4 - To create a new sales tax click on the Add New Tax Rate tab.




5 - A new page will appear.  You can choose between a Single Tax Rate and a Combined Tax Rate (multiple taxes calculated). We will review setting up a Single Tax Rate first.




     A - Tax Name:  This the name of the sales tax (ie - TN Sales Tax or Alabama Liquor Tax)


     B - Agency Name:   This who the tax will be submitted to.  Note you can select an existing Agency if it has already been created.


     C - Tax Rate:  This is the tax Rate (%)




Once you are done filling out the information click on the Save Changes.


6 - You will go back to the Sales Tax Rates using the back link.




7 - Your new Sales Tax Rate will appear.  Note you can edit or delete what you just created.





8 - If you want to create a Combined Rate tax you will click on the Combined Tax Rate bubble.





9 - Next you will fill out the information for the Combined Tax Rate




     A - Tax Name:  This the name of the sales tax rate


     B - Component Name:  This is the type of tax.


     C - Agency Name:  This who the tax will be submitted too.  Note you can select an existing Agency if it has already been created.


     D - Tax Rate:  This is the tax Rate




10 - Then you will click on Add Row tab.   And fill out the 2nd Component to the Tax Rate.





 When done with all the components you will click on the Save Changes tab.


11 - You will go back to the Sales Tax Rates using the back link.




12 - Then you will see the Combined Sales Tax Rate that you created.




13 - Note that you can use the Manage Sales Tax Agencies link at the top of your page to pre-create the Agencies.




14 - When you click on the Manage Sales Tax Agencies link the existing Agencies will appear.   You can add a New Agency or you can Delete an existing one.




15 - Note that you can manage your Sales Tax Components by using the Manage Sales Tax Components link at the top of your page.




16 - When you click on the link you will see the existing Components that you have created.   You can add a New Component or you can Delete out an existing one.
