Available Payment Methods to allow:
Pay at Pickup/Delivery – Select this if the customer is paying by Cash or Check once the order has been picked up or delivered.
Pay by Credit Card – CaterZen does not run the credit cards unless you are signed up with one of the gateways we are linked with. If connected to a gateway, CaterZen securely stores the customer's credit card information, displaying only the last four digits on the order. Full credit card details are accessible only to authorized employees with the required permissions and password.**Make sure to check off the types of credit cards that you accept below the payment types.
Pay by House Account – Allows the customer to pay after the order has passed. Only customers who have been marked in the CRM with permission to pay by House Account will see this option.
Pay with System Credit – If you offer gift cards or credit memos, you can have this option appear as a form of payment.
Pay with Loyalty Points – If the Loyalty Program is turned on, customers can use points instead of a loyalty certificate.
Pay with Loyalty Certificate – If the Loyalty Program is turned on, customers who receive a certificate in the mail can use this option. You will need to type in the certificate number.
Pay with Credit Card Not in System (Restaurant Use Only) – If you do not want CaterZen to store the customer’s credit card but still want to record the payment method, use this option. Note: This option is visible only to CaterZen employees and will not be shown to customers.
Once your payment types are set up, they can be applied when processing invoices or taking payments. Simply select the appropriate payment type from the drop-down menu when placing an order. The payment box will appear with all of the different types of payment options you allow.
Best Practices
Regularly review your payment types to ensure they align with your accepted methods.
Keep track of transaction trends to determine if additional payment methods should be added.
Ensure your staff is trained on selecting the correct payment type to avoid reconciliation errors.
By setting up your payment types correctly, you’ll streamline operations, improve cash flow tracking, and provide customers with multiple payment options to enhance their experience.
